Each TMS treatment session is approximately 20 minutes. Please allow additional time for check-in upon arrival.
The most common side effects include mild scalp discomfort or headache during or shortly after treatment. Although such cases are rare, these effects usually lessen over time. TMS does not cause memory loss, sedation, or cognitive impairment.
Individuals with certain metal implants in or near the head, such as aneurysm clips or cochlear implants, may not be eligible for TMS. A detailed screening is conducted prior to treatment to ensure patient safety.
The initial evaluation includes a comprehensive psychiatric assessment, review of prior treatments, and discussion of treatment goals. This visit helps determine whether TMS is an appropriate option for you.
TMS may be appropriate for adults who have not experienced sufficient relief from antidepressant medications or who have difficulty tolerating side effects. A thorough psychiatric and medical evaluation is completed to determine eligibility.
